C language gets high marks on performance with new ISO/IEC standard. C, one of the most popular programming languages used in everything from Web browsers to 3D video games, has been fully updated and published as, ISO/IEC, Information technology – Programming languages – C. Topic: compiler and library support for the ISO C 2011 standard. Template use may increase code size, because each template instantiation produces a copy of the template code: one for each set of template arguments, however, this is the same or smaller amount of code that would be generated if the code was written by hand. The default setting that Orwell Dev-C uses (don't pass any -std option), will not enable some shiny new C11 functions, like uniqueptr. The fix is quite simple: For non-project compilations, go to: Tools Compiler Options (select your compiler) Settings Code Generation (set 'Language standard' to a C11 option).
All of these documents (in fact, this entire homepage set) are bundled with the library source, under the docs
subdirectory, for releases and snapshots. The sole exception is the automatically-generated source documentation, available separately.

Source-Level Documentation
The library sources have been specially formatted so that with the proper invocation of another tool (Doxygen), a set of HTML pages are generated from the sources files themselves. The resultant documentation is referred to as Source-Level Documentation, and is useful for examining the signatures of public member functions for the library classes, finding out what is in a particular include file, looking at inheritance diagrams, etc.
The source-level documentation for the most recent releases can be viewed online:

ISO/IEC 14882:2011Abstract
ISO/IEC 14882:2011 specifies requirements for implementations of the C++ programming language. The first such requirement is that they implement the language, and so ISO/IEC 14882:2011 also defines C++. Other requirements and relaxations of the first requirement appear at various places within ISO/IEC 14882:2011.
C++ is a general purpose programming language based on the C programming language as specified in ISO/IEC 9899:1999. In addition to the facilities provided by C, C++ provides additional data types, classes, templates, exceptions, namespaces, operator overloading, function name overloading, references, free store management operators, and additional library facilities.
